Lyr was once an aquatic world overflowing with vegetation, but a misplaced experiment that created salt in their world caused sickness to spread through the roots that held the world together. The core of the world was an entanglement of thick roots and at its center beat it's heart. When the sickness reached the heart the vegetation began to wither and decay. Before the decay the planet thrived with thick vines weaving and diving out of and beneath the waters. Dirt is non-existent. The Lyrians were capable of breathing the water and their bodies were built to mirror their world with roots cocooning their hearts and spreading through their bodies. Homes were built beneath and above the water out of plants and impregnable air bubbles.
